Spoiler

NieR: Automata

When it comes to the GOTY, one cannot avoid but to reminisce on the games he/she played throughout a specific year.NieR: Automata action phase triumphed in the form of silky smooth 60 FPS combat system that gives a surreal amount of satisfaction when engaging in battle. Moves and Combos in NieR: Automata are fun to execute and beautiful to look at.

The game’s accompanying sound tracks are the best I’ve heard. While the taste in music can be subjective and varies from one person to another, I still believe the majority who played NieR: Automata would agree that its OSTs are one of the strongest element in the game.

Storytelling in NieR: Automata was so strong, impactful and cleverly done. The script was so amazing that every game hour felt like a journey through a highway of emotion that is decorated by ample philosophical touches along the way. The last time I felt this way was without a doubt, when I finished The Last of Us.

We all have our list of favourite old games. We enjoyed them when we played them and several years later when we think about them, we ended up loving them. For the experience, for the good times, for their perfection and for nostalgic reasons. They may not be very special back then but time would add more value to that because now we have seen and heard more and now we realise how special they truly are. In this sense, NieR: Automata is made and delivered like a bottle of priceless vintage wine. It is complete, there is no contest.
